The Hole I Have Dug

Slip sliding today
Can’t seem to get away
North Wind is howling
Dark day is growling

Stare out the window
From behind a desk
A projection of life
Take a deep breath

The hole I have dug
Without lifting a spade
Not pushed by a hand
But decisions I’ve made

As I lay at the bottom
And look up at my cares
The walls seem covered
In fears that we share

A flight overhead
Plays dodge with the clouds
Each one of the stories
Lost in the crowds

One lonely boat
Fighting the sea
Can’t see the captain
Does he feel like me

The hole I have dug
Without lifting a spade
Not pushed by a hand
But decisions I’ve made

As I sit at the bottom
The way outs not clear
The walls seems endless
My pleas are sincere

Is the grass always greener
Sometimes that’s the feel
Need to stop looking back
Just keep laying this track

Plenty of bright days
Easy to forget
Walks in the park
And the day that we met

The hole I have dug
Can be covered with moments
I’ll stand tall among them
And have no regrets

The hole I have dug
Can be covered with moments
I’ll stand tall among them
And have no regrets
